about

We All Believe in Utopia.

Given the period chosen, the repertoire presented gives pride of place to the TIMIDES' latest studio album, Tranches de temps jeté, as I Cuento Blumen, a fabulous piece of multi-lingual progressive rock, opens the LP, while it closes with The Sound of the City Seems Not to Disappear, another epic track whose build-up owes much to JimB's guitar blazing.

Sandwiched between these two monuments is Le Minisme, a track that originally appeared on the thematic compilation We All Believe in Utopia. LA STPO's distant past is saluted by the short but eccentric a cappella song Le Femme immortel, taken from the now out-of-print Pop-Up (!) mini-CD Le Femme: Portraits (which we hope will one day be reissued). Finally, La Vallée des empreintes: the first time so far this track has been recorded!

The five compositions selected for this live album show that, on stage, our feathered TIMIDES awaken their wild instincts and transform their thorny pieces into jolting playlets, the chapters of which owe much to the almost theatrical involvement of their musician-actors, not to mention the charismatic vocal presence of Pascal GODJIKIAN, polymorphous to perfection.
